In the heart of New York, founded by Pierpont Morgan Library is a must for bibliophiles sanctuary. By 1890, Morgan began a collection of exceptional literature and rare manuscripts, letters, drawings and engravings, music scores, various illustrations, etc.. Today, the sanctuary founded by philanthropist and collector continues the mission gathers a multitude of documents and services focused on literature and the arts.

Among the collections of the library and museum, some are sometimes subject to special exhibition. Until March, the world of Jane Austen is showing. The Thaw Conservation Center has prepared for this event and finished off a host of outstanding documents. More than a hundred documents are presented to relate the career of the author unforgettable. Letters, manuscripts, rare editions, and objects are grouped for the occasion.

It is fascinating to observe, or almost touch, such document. Jane Austen has probably written more than 3000 letters during its existence. This correspondence of high quality, about 160 Letters have been preserved. The Morgan Library possesses 51. The conservation center has made some observations and analysis that I think are worthy of our friend Sherlock Holmes. Detective reveled in all the mysteries surrounding the correspondence of an individual. Paper, ink, stamps, pen, all these elements indicate the character and identity of an individual. For Jane Austen, it is obvious that this activity was particularly important. According to specialists of the center, Jane used the materials to use and rather common at that time. Quill pen was cut at progressively according to personal tastes and allowed flexibility for writing. The delicacy of his hand betrayed the author's personality. The ink was readily available, while the paper was a scarce and expensive.

I imagine Jane sharpening our weapons of his armada, comfortably installed in front of his desk. The goose must be unimpeded, without useless twig around the hand so as not to cause sneezing incongruous. Perfectly sharp tip, neither too thin nor too broad. A soft tip sliding on the grain paper and draw the letters of the words on the blank page. A quality paper will be prepared for the match of the day. Paper with a watermark, one that Jane loves the most. The ink will be diluted as needed in the ink. Its color will vary as to measure the activity. Gray tones in the beginning will change from gray blue to blue-black in no time.

The paper is scarce and expensive and Jane still has things to write ... So, it turns the paper from left to right. She writes in the margins, in every nook and cranny in order to maximize the hardware that offers his correspondence. The letter looks like a crossword puzzle in every direction. Correspondence will be successful. The successful recipient will be delighted. Jane has filled all available space. Quality correspondence respectable as it should ...

I wonder what Sherlock would say such a correspondent. T. Baierl. The model What would you do if an invitation to dinner with Jane you succeed? Besides the initial panic, what would you do? An epileptic seizure or hives? Personally, I would answer yes to this prodigy. I will confirm my acceptance letter, I will make to go in a cab and unusual ball gown. It goes without saying that the quadrille is called for after dessert ...

And you?

The ultimate goal was to resolve impasses between the major land and emerging countries to build and continue the groundwork for a Protocol survival of our sister the earth. The underdeveloped countries, those suffering most from this modern plague, wanted reductions hovering around 20%. The round table was set for a battle of kings. be or not be

a greenhouse effect? That is the question ... It seems that the kings of the gas greenhouse were quick to resolve the issue through a multitude of obstructions. All shots were allowed to sink into the tar sands any attempt to negotiate constructively. The fossil harperien quickly took center stage and the effects of greenbacks black gold did sink the ship's last chance. The demonstrators égosillés in vain. Nothing stops the essential progress of the kings of the essence. Checkmate to negotiation. The king of Denmark was headed once again and princes Goodwill increasingly limited in their every greenhouse or others.

Subscribe no perfect solution. We create stories and we hope the reader will share moments of adventure and friendship. Out of respect for ourselves and to the reader, it seems essential to bring coherence to our writing process. A detective novel should include a logical plot, fantasy should transport the reader into a fantasy world, a thriller should prevent the literary traveler to sleep, because we want to know more.

This is so each of the scenes we imagine for a novel. A new stage represents a further step in the history, evolution characters and plot. We must build the narrative of each scene so that it takes us to a new scene and a new result consistent with the history of the novel. A wonderful metaphor or literary circle that evil can promote reading and to ensure that the reader longs ... turn the page and continue the story.

Several authors adopt this creative process:

Decision

A scene can be divided into three essential elements: objective, conflicts and disasters. Each scene is followed by a short sequel called quiet period and can also be divided into three parts: Reactions, dilemmas and disasters. Librairie J.P Morgan Objective: What your protagonist wants early stage. This objective must be clearly defined. This goal turns your protagonist and propelled him into history. It is not passive. It is this humanity that wants to do anything to achieve the goal. The reader must identify with him. He does not expect the universe to solve the conflict and enable him to achieve his goal. He has the ability to set foot where it should not! It generates difficulties. You must. Otherwise, no conflict, no story and the reader closes the book, the light and dark in trouble sleep unsatisfied.

Conflicts:

What obstacles or series of barriers that prevent your protagonist from reaching the goal. Each stage must conceal various conflicts. If your protagonist reaches the target from the beginning, there is no history or continuation of the story by the reader. The player does not want the protagonist to succeed the first time. The easy victories are boring. The reader wants the material to sleepless night! Imagine conflict to the extent of your protagonist and your readers will follow you in all the storms that you put on the road to romance.

Disasters: A disaster is a loophole that allows your protagonist to achieve his goal. Do not give him the victory now! The victory granted by magic is boring for the reader. That makes him sleep. The reader has no reason to want to turn the page. Imagine a major disaster, a matter of life or death if necessary. It is essential that the disaster causes the reader to a new development in history.

Jane Austen. Lettre The sequelae of each scene is also essential.

The artist was born in Rome to British parents, but the family returned to London five years. From a young age, Waterhouse assisted his father in his studio and soon became interested in painting, sculpture and classical antiquity. In 1870 he was admitted to the School of the Royal Academy, where he gradually imposes its style, with original works inspired by the melancholy and Rome and ancient Greece. For his dramatic images, richly colored and featuring beautiful women, he acquired the reputation within the British Empire and at international exhibitions of 1890 and 1900

Some men whispering in the ears of horses. Some artists sing ballads of chivalry for the souls of mermaids, goddesses, witches and infidels. An ode to love for all. Such was John William Waterhouse. Throughout his career he has captured the sound of the human soul by listening to the heart of the tale for his paintings transcend. In his workshop, he listened to the song of the invisible and took tea with Circe, Mariamne, Miranda, Sainte-Eulalie, Sainte-Cecile, Tristan and Isolde, the beautiful no thank you lady, Lamia, the lady and many more ... Escalot

Often associated with the Pre-Raphaelites, who aimed to recapture the beauty and simplicity of the medieval world, Waterhouse was also a painter classic. The exhibition will show how the artist's paintings reflect her commitment to the themes of his time, as medievalism, classical heritage, spiritualism and the femme fatale. Born the same year that the Pre-Raphaelites were first exhibited at the Royal Academy, he inherited their passion for Alfred Tennyson, John Keats and William Shakespeare. Waterhouse was also under the spell of the enchanting myth, the underworld and beauty. His paintings exude a romantic fascination for female passions: he chose to paint the Lady of Shalott, Cleopatra, Circe, Lamia, Ulysses and the Sirens, and Mariamne, sentenced to death. Literature was for him a source of inspiration, like the mythological stories by Homer and Ovid.

Garden of Enchantment unveils part of this mystery man. More than 80 paintings, studies in sepia, ink, pencil tests in the margins of the poetry of Shelley, the sketchbooks, personal letters. The exhibition suffers spells all the more fabulous than the other. A passage memorable in history, often tragic and cruel, unfolds before us. Medea poured poison while Jason is observed in silence, nymphs discover the head of Orpheus in a stream, Psyche opens the door roses Cupid, Rosamond looked out the window while Eleanor is about to poison him . A little later in the garden, the soul of the rose is dispersed, vanity ecstatic and the lady of Shalott is sailing off to his destiny ...

They say that the features of the Witch's Magic Circle is inspired by Sarah Bernhardt. It is true that the larger models were posed to him. In fact, it seems more likely that his wife, Esther Kenworthy, painter, and especially his sister, have served as models for various works. According to various experts, the face of the Lady of Shalott is the sister of the painter.

I find it interesting to explore the process of writing by different authors. Some items we offer tracks screenwriting extremely revealing of the work required to achieve any literary work. The script remains the architecture of the novel. It seems inconceivable to undertake the implementation of a novel without the groundwork. Writing a work is difficult. The journey is long and requires several steps.

According to Larry Brooks, an American novelist and former baseball star, the groundwork is essential. He says not to try to make a good novel, but to play all out: Write a hit! The resulting certainly in my work as a monk, is the work of a novelist quality.

The first elements required are therefore the determination of the author, humility and professional will .

The second element is essential architecture of the novel. This course allows the author to construct the work. It should lead to a detailed script of the novel (chapter by chapter, page by page, etc..) And the creation of an initial synopsis.

can develop several other steps to scriptwriting. Each of these calls requires special attention and can be developed in depth. However, items mentioned remain the main base and generate the work to write. This foundation work requires more research and study before undertaking the work of writing. It is strongly advised to do so with seriousness and professionalism. The difference between a finished work or just sketched is palpable as the writing process used by the author. Without a good year of construction, the writing of the work is likely to remain superficial and therefore no depth. Each element may be subject to chronic. It seems interesting to explore these topics. During the year, I will continue this exploration with you. As an author, I favor the writing process. And you? What do you think of this literary architecture?

Subscribe in a practical way every day. Understand and discover what motivates and enables it to achieve a work. This invitation into the world of an author reveals the inner life of this great profession. The writer is not talkative. He wrote. It describes in showing his feelings. I mean show. Say what he sees. He takes us inside him to share his perspective on a subject he has chosen.

I found fascinating and interesting to his explanations about the evolution of his writing process. His latest novel is just fine, takes place in Wyoming, a U.S. state that she loves and is passionate about. This land of the American West becomes the main protagonist, the starting point of all his work. Useless to try to write a novel about a subject that does not interest us. The knowledge of that land becomes essential character. This space is the scene of the book you want to write. It's the basic story Annie Proulx eventually develop, the place she chose to change his characters.

The study of the history of this area, geography, social characters of yesterday and today provide a wealth of information to the author. The legends and trivia have flocked to the notebooks. Gradually, as the research progresses, the characters are shaped and refine. The characters take shape in different situations possible and impossible. The account is created throughout the research process and writing. Several ideas are born and all along the road. The script of the novel is accurate and generates a first synopsis. John William Waterhouse. Le cercle magique. 1886 Fascinated by history in general, it almost always works with this process for the realization of his works. When research and preparation it seems appropriate, she began writing the novel. The time required varies according to the editorial work. The complete writing can span a period of three to six months or even years. This frequency belongs to the author.

Personally, I favor the writing process. I can not imagine doing otherwise. The research leads to constant evolution coherent whole story. Differences road are detected quickly and easily correctable. The process of writing reveals the importance of preparation. The script is an essential part of the work of the author. This process allows us to define the entire novel we want to create.

  1. Subscribe I jump back in the car. I could easily go on foot. I prefer to make the drive to better enjoy the visit. On Wednesday, the museum is open until 21 hours. There will certainly crowd and queue. Quebec streets are crowded. However, the hours are longer on Wednesday, I would not have to hurry. I could enjoy the benefit of the works and even dinner at the restaurant of the museum.
I plague a little on the Grande Allée. The traffic jams are still legions. Bof! I have plenty of time. It's Wednesday!
  2. I rush down the aisle of the museum. The field is open before me. Excellent! The Battlefields Park shines on my right. Walkers, joggers, skaters and walkers enjoy the bright sunshine of late summer day. I am looking for a place to park the horse. There are people, but not as much as I suspected. I find a parking meter near the museum entrance. I foresee a rather long visit. So, I leave all my spare change in your mouth delicious Sergeant metal.
  3. What a good idea to introduce myself at this time. There is no queue counter. I ask for a ticket to the show, then I head to the first floor. Well, I cast a glance at the menu of the restaurant before proceeding further. The offer seems interesting. Better and better. I'll come visit after dinner. I will not have to press and release the vehicle to look for another parking space. I am delighted.
I'm looking for some time the two exhibition halls dedicated to the American painter. I get lost in the corridors and find myself in the service elevator ... Obviously, a statue of Rodin passes easily between the doors of the cage. I find myself on the ground floor. I rant a bit and try again. Good. That's it. I fall on the right elevator. I'm making the trip up and down and I finally arrive at the right place. Certainly, the museum is very quiet for a Wednesday. As best I can admire the works at my ease.
  4. Proud of my initiatives, I point to the first room. There is not a cat. So I could admire the works suggested by Whistler, Homer, Cassatt, Hopper, Pollock and even in the other room ... it feels strange to visit a room with as much free space around me. In fact, I'm alone. Besides the two security guards the first room I'm alone! Better! I enter the light step in the great room. Smiling, I look around me on all sides in order to familiarize myself with the presentation. Over 70 works are presented. I wonder which side it seems good to me direct. Left? Right?
  5. I do not have the time nor the opportunity to choose. The security guard tells me it has clearly started the journey from the left. Good. Okay. Why not. I'd do not rush to one side or the other, I am alone. I begin to read the texts of presentations works. I'm at the beginning of the exposure between two explanations when the guard tells me to carry my backpack in front of me or hand ... Well ... Well. But it is very small. In fact, it's a bag. Point. But if you insist. I bow to its guidelines for peace and I set my bag as he wishes. I should say, as it requires. I entrust myself to read the explanations and I look at the paintings of Whistler. The keeper comes near me and describes me smile with his thoughts on the table I'm trying to watch quietly as we are Wednesday and normally I should have time to watch all this in peace. It is a few steps back and looks willing to let me continue the visit in peace, but he remains a few steps from me and looks me head to toe. I try to watch the works of Homer, Sargent and Cassatt with Cerberus beside me. I'm starting to lose patience. I love to watch paintings of artists from different angles. In the near distance. I like to study the pieces slowly, especially when I like. I try to visit this exhibition and the paintings look like I should, but it's impossible! The security guard followed me like a madman as a stepper and is constantly watching me from head to toe and analyze each of my gestures. He thinks maybe I'll swing my tiny backpack purse is actually the head of the Whistler I'm trying desperately to see. I can not see the stars because it does not give me an inch! Worse! His sidekick out of the shadows. They are two in the first room of doom. And now they are behind me to better understand the strange beast that he suspects some unknown wrongdoing. This is ridiculous!
I'm alone in this museum of misery. They are two security guards appointed by the CIA museum to watch me as if I was the Bin Laden of American painters.
  6. Exasperated by this abuse of zeal, I try to focus on the middle of the room where I noticed some rather unusual canvas. I ignore these idiots who are behind again and again and I realized that these paintings are works of the painter Georges B. Luks. An American painter in talent. It differs from other works by the subjects and the morbid side of each of his paintings. I approach and attempts to assess whether I can call it the dark side of these studies. He painted the bottoms of the cities, working-class neighborhoods, human misery. His portraits are a fascinating precision. The sadism of that painter is palpable. I walk away and then I approach the canvas first proposed. Suddenly, something clicked done. I remember this painting. We see a little girl playing with a doll in a dilapidated street notorious. Behind the girl, the silhouette of a man guessing. He wears a cape and a black top hat. He carries a briefcase. That's it, I remember this horrible web. This is a fable about Jack the Ripper. Luks was among the suspects. It was strongly suspected of being responsible for these horrible crimes ... Clearly, the guy had serious penchant for sadism.
  7. I begin to breathe a little easier. I find this discovery almost satisfactory when the second security guard that Guantanamo Quebec approached me and said: "More than two feet of canvas." Then he fell behind me to better observe its prey.
This time the anger came over me seriously. I fathom one of those looks that do not forgive. They are like two idiots who absolutely do not want to let me watch, visit, breathe, enjoy. In short, they do not leave me look what I came to see and be entitled to see. And now the two other security guards show up in a room. Obviously, they have nothing to do in their own rooms. I am only one in the museum and they are four to watch me and guide me in this Wednesday evening at the Museum of evil of all evils! You know where I want to leave my nice backpack! Just! Iconoclasts! Paranoid! Eaters visitors! It is early and I have not seen half a quarter of this exhibition ... and you put me in a rat trap as a museum! I should make you one of these complaints in twenty copies. You know why now there is not a cat in this house of horrors! Go to hell!
  8. After thirty minutes, I came away from this museum of misfortune with a huff. There was still plenty of time to reserve the parking meter ... does not matter, I am one of those places in a jiffy. It's Wednesday, it's early. I'm on holiday. I'll find a nice restaurant where I will look at the menu and restore me in peace!

The Spaniard who coos better better, but also French, Chinese, Japanese, German, and I do not know ... Multiple groups roam the aisles. Facilitators are responsible for guiding them through the maze of the king. Near my dear coffee Roro, now a shop, an aristocrat from the era of Victoria talks with a herd of tourists. Belgians, I think. Soon, he will lead in the dens of history. Some rooms on some floors, suites and royal princes. Then, ballrooms, dining rooms, tea rooms, lounges, kitchens, laundry rooms, garages, pools, gardens, and whatnot ...

Remember, I do not want not tell you the story of the history of this magician. I just want to work for you and with you in the footsteps of history.

It's late. I am dying for a coffee break. I walk through the halls, galleries, bar sailors. And then, I unearthed a table on the terrace first. I offer you what you want. To me, you guessed right. It's time for a fabulous elongated simple. Time for a break, I am enchanted by the sight on the Dufferin Terrace and the river ...

Subscribe such a trip are scattered waves of our good and bad pilgrimages to the cave of this unique city in North America. The excitement is palpable until the hour of departure. I can not bring myself to travel light. I take another part of my home in my luggage. Who knows what the weather will lend itself to the game of my walks? And then, after all, are on vacation. Everything is permitted.

Fortunately, the sun was up, which facilitated the movement in the streets and stairways of the goddess of the river ... The road is smooth along the route. I do not see the time passing so much so that just two hours after the departure of my beloved mountain, I see the perilous bridge of the City.

The magic unfolds gradually as my gray steed navigates to Old Quebec. The streets are busy and I have to take my pain with patience. I grumbled a bit against the traffic jams caused by the many works that bloom all over the tracks. And now I can breathe again: Plains of Abraham loom on my right. I coos doubling the parliament, I sigh with sadness at the armory remains missing in a fire and I start to breathe better and better crossing the gate of St. Louis. The real change of scene a reality. I fall again under the spell of the city. The fortress is still beautiful. A few days in this place are not sufficient to capture the full extent of its secrets. Nevertheless, the enchantments are created from the first moments in this world of story.

I pumped slowly through the Rue St. Louis toward the door of the castle. Dufferin Terrace makes me nod and smile the river with all his might. I salute Mr. rapidly from Frontenac Street Treasury, then I head straight to the park of Governors.

There. That's it. I park in front of the meteor Manoir Sainte-Genevieve. My small hotel overlooking the gardens of Governors with a view of Old Quebec ... A smell of stories to tell around the old fleet building and caress the staircase stands at the entrance and leads to the room overlooking the Chateau Frontenac: the castle of my childhood holidays, and more ... The woodwork is beautiful and emit a smell of mystery. The room is more than adequate. The floral wallpaper marries the carpet and the bed seems rather cozy. The bags are quickly defeated, the three books on the bedside table and fitted clothes tour were quickly put on. I note with pleasure that the room with a view is indeed overlooking the castle ... scat! This is not the time for a little nap. The holiday schedule is pretty tight. It's hard on the system of freedom of the holidays! I have no phone. I will have to pass this terrible thing for a few days. Too bad. It's the holidays! There is always the Blackberry and internet cafes. And then, no. Vacation. End of story. I decide to get into the wave and let me be carried away by the memories to the remains of the day. I look at the Castle window, then I put myself on the road. The stroller is not light. Berlin The walk on the Dufferin Terrace call travelers in search of lost time. If the cell starts to sing, I mad in the dungeon room with views to the rest of the trip.
